Walton's Oak Barn
Formally
an agricultural building it was moved to it's current site within the
grounds of The English Wine Centre in 1982. It remains the centrepiece
of the Annual English Wine & Regional Food Festival which is being held
on the first weekend of September.
The
barn is heated as necessary along with the marquee which is erected for
the summer months. On fine days or evenings no opportunity is missed to
make the most of the good weather and the large barn doors are open giving
access to the lawns for reception drinks. This is a real favourite for
the evenings when the sun sets over the mound of Firle beacon throwing
its last rays across the lawns and into the barn.
The 17th Century Waltons Oak Barn can comfortably seat 50 up to 70 people
and a further 180 seat can be provided with the addition of our marquee.
The marquee is provided with matting, cream lining, heating, and uplighters
for the evening.
